In light of /u/Withyourfeetintheair's post and the 200+ salty comments, here is a likely explanation for why Vitalik is on the board of the Dogecoin Foundation:

Which probably has less to do with the technicals of DOGE, but instead that the DOGE community is (or at least used to be) one of the most wholesome cryptocurrency communities (case in point).

It's also a foundation which he registered the domain for.

And a foundation with a community that he loves so much that he has been trying for ages to bring them to Ethereum.

That said, he's just some guy, so chill out.
