A little surprised at the people even on this sub who think Bitcoin is a get rich quick scheme

Listen, when I tell people I invest regularly in Bitcoin people are usually shocked. Im a heavy machine operator, low computer skills in economics and business I do have more libertarian sentiments then anything else. Anyways, one of my wife’s friends sat down with me and explained Bitcoin to me like I was 5 years old. He was able to answer questions about other crypto and how Bitcoin is different. Maybe most importantly that Bitcoin needs to be a long play and you shouldn’t invest anything you think you’ll need for at least 4 years.

I would encourage you more knowledgeable people to talk to people in your life like me about the hard facts of Bitcoin and the volatility and hold times. I feel very fortunate to have some one level it out for me and prepare me for what’s happening now. Just food for thought,when you talk to people in your life about Bitcoin don’t sell it as a get rich quick scheme sell it as what it is, a long term store of value with out any centralized authority.
