Thought I would show you my project which has taken me a year to do. My Raspberry Pi 4 Full Node which is also running to accept payments for my product using BTCPayServer, which I must say is absolutely brilliant. It has taken me a year to get my product ready (its a ticker display). But to get it in a reliable state to sell is a momentous task, making sure everything is automated and smooth to customers. So many things to consider to get up and running, especially doing on my own. from website design, Woocommerce set up, setting up hosting, payment processing, trying get it visible on Google shopping, SEO, marketing, business addresses, postage requirements, I'm absolutely exhausted. I've only had one order through my website so far and they used Stripe Debit Card to pay lol, So gutted :). One of the hardest things is getting the website visible. So most of my orders have been through Etsy, I just wanted an alternative self hosted shop where I will be able to make it cheaper. And using Bitcoin for good. Using a Raspberry Pi 4, the full node takes 700GB of space. Tip sync the bitcoin blockchain on a computer first, took around 10 hours. Used the same bitcoin core version as what BTCPayServer uses, then copied the data files over to the Pi4. As syncing only on a Pi I hear can take weeks. Using Woocommerce with BTCPayServer integrated. BTCPayServer has a nice interface to see invoices which get sent from Woocommerce and handles the processing [link] [comments] |
