As someone who hasn't closely followed crypto in about a year, but is looking to get back into crypto, what is the state of crypto heading into 2023?

hi reddit! so almost exactly a year ago at this point, i naively but excitedly began to research and explore crypto as i looked to find a small income to support me during my final year of high school. if you so wish, you can navigate my profile and find posts i made here in r/CryptoCurrency where I asked similar questions. sadly though, i was 17 and i simply could not bypass KYC regulations to actually find a break into the market and eventually i gave up all together as i focused on school and my university applications.

however, now that i'm done with that AND i can legally pass KYC, i would like to see if i can get my break in now. but before i do that, i want to ask what have been some of the big developments in crypto that i should pay attention to in order to create my investment strategy?

i know that at some point last year ETH 2.0 was introduced which i can acknowledge is a big deal, but i don't understand why its a big deal and i am not sure how i should take that into account while strategizing.

i also know crpyto went through a bear market and a lot of big coins, i think in particular BTC, lost a lot of value. but as i arrived back onto this subreddit to make this post, i saw another post discussing that the bear market is over and the bull market is back... what are your opinions on that?

lastly i think a few big brokerages got into some legal trouble, i know FTX off the top of my head and i think were maybe 1 or 2 more right?

are there any other major developments or affairs of crypto that i should be aware about? also, what are some new coins or projects that are worth keeping my eye on, or worth researching and considering to include in my investment strategy?
