Be skeptical of everything, even when people apparently show proof!

edit: Putting this edit up top as I think it's important. User only_merit made a great point. My numbers are daily closing prices that I got from Yahoo Finance. They do not take into account intraday price changes.

I just checked intra-day prices on coinmarketcap for some of the months in question and the other post's numbers do seem to be more accurate now. His December 2018 claim of an -84% drop still seems to be way off as looking at intraday prices it seems the biggest drop was about -26%.

Below is my original post:

There was a post yesterday that received hundreds of upvotes and multiple awards. The post was about the number of times that BTC had dropped 30%+ in a month since 2017 and the poster provided the specific months that supposedly had those drops. Here's a link to the referenced post:

I didn't think the numbers sounded right at all, after looking into it I confirmed I was correct. Here are a couple examples of what that post claimed and what the actual numbers were:

I glanced at multiple of the other month claims and from what I can multiple others seem to be incorrect as well but I think you get the point by now.

The sad thing is only one comment on that post called BS on the numbers being provided and even more sad was that the comment had 1 upvote.
