Beacon Chain to breach 200,000 active validators

When Epoch 53045 hits in a few hours, the Beacon Chain will have 200,000 active validators with an average balance of ~33Eth. (https://beaconcha.in/)

As we approach the London activation block and begin the implementation of EIP 3675, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the dramatic success the Beacon Chain has been and the continued excitement the entire Ethereum community and, many would agree, the world has for the dawn of Proof of Stake in Ethereum.

I remember back in 2016 having discussions with my colleagues about the potential of Proof of Stake and I distinctly recall one individual claiming it was mathematically proven to be impossible. I think the same claim could have been made about changing the engine on a jet midflight, yet here we are in the process of doing just that.
