Best tips/lifehacks everyone in crypto should know and use

Hello everyone.

I am in the crypto space for well over 7 years and I woke up with the need to share any tips that I find valuable. Most veterans will know everything that I will share but it's nice to remember some things. For the new people I hope you learn something or find this useful.

Of course feel free to add your own tips/lifehacks in the comments as this post doesn't mean I know everything so i will be more than happy to hear back from you.

So let's start:

1: ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use 2FA on any account you have online. By 2FA I don't mean SMS verification. 2FA with an application like Google Auth or Authy. If you leave your accounts with no 2FA protection it's like you scream for danger.

2: If you exchange/wallet allows you to whitelist addresses then do it now. Whitelisting addresses means that you have to add some addresses that you want to withdraw your crypto and any other address added needs something like 24-48 hours to be confirmed depending on the exchange/wallet. This can dodge almost any hack as they can't send your crypto to another address.

3: NEVER google a website that you want to log into. If you want to go to coinbase/binance/paypal etc.etc. just type the address. If you don't remember for some reason the website NEVER click sponsored ads on google about exchanges. And also always remember to check that the website is https:// as a last layer of protection.

4: If you ever have a question if an email from an exchange is legit or not just contact their support directly from the website and ask about it. If you get asked to KYC then the support will validate it. NEVER click links in emails.

5: When you transfer funds between wallets or exchanges be sure to use the network with the lower fees depending on the availability of the coin you want to move.

6: If an exchange/pool etc.etc. promises huge returns for staking it's a red flag. As a victim of the Celsius bankruptcy I want to note this one and how important it is. I know how good it feels to see "big numbers" added to your balance every month but if the numbers are way because the average then this is a huge red flag.

7: Even if you feel confident enough with your experience always test with a small transaction before doing the main transaction you want. There is no reason not to test. Better safe than sorry.

8: In all costs stay away from 99% of the crypto influencers out there. If for any reason you want to follow someone be super cautious and always do a cross examination with other people that you know they have no benefit of supporting him so you get legit conversations.

9: 100x Coins are not easy to be found. Don't chase jackpots. For every 1 story that someone became a millionaire because he got early there are 99 other stories of people got fucked because they were greedy.

I am sure there are many other things that you are going to share so I am looking forward to it.
If at least one person dodges losing crypto to a scammer or a scheme then I am more than happy I helped.

Have a nice one everyone.
George
