Tough week/month for Binance.
They had announced a few days ago that they were leaving Cyprus to focus on the larger European market. Just today they have confirmed their failure to get a Dutch license, and are therefore leaving The Netherlands. All of this is happening not long after the SEC filled countless charges against Binance and CZ, its CEO.
As if it weren't enough, Paris prosecutor's office has just announced today that the exchange is being investigated for "the unauthorised practice of the profession of virtual assets service provider" and "aggravated money-laundering".
To sum up, they're having problems in the US and in major economies in Europe. It is not looking good and I wonder what the final goal of these investigations is. I wonder if this is an attack on crypto or a group of people is really pissed at CZ, or maybe both.
I also wonder if they're too big to fail. I tend to think not. At its prime, Mt. Gox was the biggest dog in the shed, and yet here we are.
