Edward Snowden brought up a very good point, do not forget about all transactions recorded on the blockchain as meta information which helps shape the story of each individual.
I wanted to just remind everyone, NOT EVERY BITCOIN TRANSACTION NEEDS TO BE ON THE BLOCKCHAIN. If Joe, who is a bitcoiner, meets Bob, and Bob wants Bitcoin and has something Joe wants. They could exchange the bitcoin off the blockchain for the goods or services Bob has.
So I just wanted to make it clear that off chain transactions which are untraceable do exist until they get transacted again on the blockchain.
EDIT: because it's worth noting OpenDime answers the security of transacting physical bitcoin. You have to essentially break part of the device to get access to the key. I guess someone could solder it back on but there is likely software to see if it's been altered at anytime.
