Bitcoin Core from 2013

While cleaning up at my parents' house in my former childhood bedroom, I found an old wallet of mine. In the meantime, a lot has happened—I finished my studies, started working, and so on.

Neatly packed in a zip-lock bag, with a backup on a USB stick, a backup on a burned DVD, the password, and the sha256 of the wallet.dat—all included.

I had created the wallet back then with the Bitcoin Core software or Bitcoin-Qt how it was called back then, the "standard" wallet where you have to download the entire blockchain. The SHA256 hash matches the wallet.dat, so it is not corrupted.

Unfortunately, the latest Bitcoin Core version 26.2 does not open the wallet.dat file. Is there a way to download old Bitcoin Core versions somewhere? The timestamp in the metadata of the wallet.dat file says 23.05.2013.

I already found out that version 0.8.2 was the version back in May of 2013.

On GitHub, it only goes back to 2016 / 0.10. https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/releases?page=6

On the Bitcoin Core Release page, only up to 0.11 is available. https://bitcoincore.org/en/releases/

Here, https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.8.2, you can find a link to SourceForge, but the file is no longer there...

I'd prefer to avoid other shady links to dubious sources.

Alternatively, should I try with 0.10 from 2016? What would be the correct modus operandi?

Should I first download and synchronize the complete blockchain (which takes days to weeks, but that's okay) and then open the wallet.dat, or open the wallet.dat immediately after installation and then synchronize the blockchain? With the old versions, there are no "shortcuts" like in the current versions? Do you really have to load the entire blockchain from day 0?

Edit: Alternatively, extract the private keys with an old version of Bitcoin Core and import them into a current version of Electrum Wallet or similar, and then send to a hardware wallet? https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/4203/how-can-i-export-the-private-key-for-an-address-from-the-satoshi-client
