Bitcoin core on Android

I’m interested in knowing if it’s possible to set up the following:

Android device (let’s say a pixel) Running bitcoin core (and possibly btc apps) With USB SSD connected to phone to store blockchain

Not concerned about cell usage, but would still like cell data enabled.

I’ve read 22.0 core has android native support. Is it possible to setup an android to be a portable node?
