I've been thinking: isn't it misleading to refer to Bitcoin as a “currency”? After all, aren't most of us treating it more like a commodity, similar to gold?

Yes, we see pushes for Bitcoin as a payment method, but isn't that more marketing strategy than practical reality? It seems like the majority of us buy, hold, and sell Bitcoin as an investment, not as an everyday transactional currency.

What's your take on this? Is Bitcoin truly a currency or just a modern-day gold? Let's discuss!
