Bitcointalk's Forum Raised Over 5500 BTC For Someone To Create Or Modify Their Software

In the final months of 2011 Bitcointalk had already a lot of users that used the forum on a daily base and some changes were required because the forum software wasn't good enough for their needs.

They decided to hire someone to make a lot of changes and make the forum better. There were a lot of changes required and whoever took the job had to be able to do it all. Changes would have to be made in the code, license, user interface, security and a lot of other things.

The job might seem hard but the bounty to do it reached 5500 Bitcoins. In very little time the forum raised this incredible amount of Bitcoin. The truth is that the users valued this forum a lot and wanted it to be as good as they could possibly make it.

On this day, at the price Bitcoin is being traded, 5500 Bitcoins are valued at more than 144 million dollars. Although 1 Bitcoin was only worth 2.75$ dollars at the time, the bounty was a little over 15,000 dollars, it's a good amount to be paid at the time and an extraordinary amount to receive if held to this day, which it's very unlikely.

Thinking that the Bitcoin you were paid in 2011 for a job, now is valued at 144 million dollars must be a curse, something special or something fantastic if only some was held.
