Hi All, I've been following the crypto space and Ethereum in particular for a number of years now, however all of my activity has been limited to centralized exchanges. I'm interested in purchasing a decentralized domain (.ENS, .Crypto, etc) and have a few quick questions,
Why should I chose say an ENS domain over something like unstoppabledomains? The former seems very popular because it runs directly on Ethereum, but the latter while issued by a centralized company gives a decentralized NFT domain via polygon. Given the gas fees on Layer One the latter is a lot cheaper. Is there any particular reason to go for an ENS other than just the moral idea of full decentralization (and potential clout haha)?
Secondly, I've largely avoided transaction via the Ethereum network despite liking the tech, and have stuck to traditional services to avoid fees. I like to participate more in the ecosystem by trading via a layer 2 like Polygon or Loopring, but would need a Layer 2 wallet solution for my domain purchase. Since I'm doing this for the sake of trying the ecosystem, I'd prefer to do so on a trusted layer 2 compatible wallet provider. Any particular favourites in the community?
I'm familiar with how to bridge my assets to layer 2 so that isn't an issue. I just thought I'd seek some advice before plunging in head first! Thanks!
