Can the people win?

After concentrating mostly on trying to get into real estate investing during this crypto winter, I’m becoming more active with my crypto portfolio again. In my time away, I did some thinking about what it will take for crypto to succeed.

We can talk about stability of BTC, mass adoption, decentralization, etc but in order for these things to happen, I see no other path than a massive change in the global financial systems and governments losing power over their own currencies.

We all know, as it sits right now, the value of crypto is an investment vehicle that we will later convert back to our respective government backed currencies. I think most of are holding out for mass adoption in the future but in all reality, as it stands, the value of our digital assets are only valuable if we can cash out.

Governments around the world no doubt see the value and innovation of digital currency and block chain technology. They are trying or already have entered the space; giving them the ability to retain control and manipulating the money supply into a digital future. If the government can provide a product with similar technological benefits and the backing of said government, the draw to decentralized crypto takes a hit. Essentially we will be operating under the same systems we have, just cashless.

In order for mass adoption to take place, there has to be a monumental shift of power in the monetary system from the world governments to the people. Which would require consensus from the general population. What vehicle gets us there?

I’m in no matter what but wanted to get this subs thoughts as sometimes it seems hopeless.
