While I'm falling down the rabbit hole, I realize that a lot of allegories and myths fit extremely well with Bitcoin. Sometimes it fits in a positive sense, very well, sometimes the respective story can be seen as a warning. Certainly interesting: so feel free to expand the collection.

  • Prometheus: interpretation is obvious and picked up on many memes. Satoshi steals the tool/fire from the elites/gods and brings it to the people.

  • Hydra: The fight against the decentralized network. Smash one node (eg. China) and twice as many grow back.

  • Midas: Everything he touches turns to gold.

  • Pandora: Box opened, idea is in the world. Not to be captured.

  • Cassandra: Bitcoin priest proclaims the truth, the great masses do not believe him.

  • Phoenix: Price rises from its own ashes. Over and over again.

  • Sisiphos: A lot of energy is spent per block, after 10 minutes you have to start all over again. Some see no point in exertion.

  • Argos: many eyes watch what is going on, so they are strict watchers.
