concerns regarding Bitcoin core's latest release

As some of you may have heard, Bitcoin core is releasing a pretty controversial update and I wanna know other's opinions on it.

So the update consists in enabling full rbf on mempools so that nodes can reject transactions at will.

The developers say that this is to mitigate businesses who rely on zero confirmation transactions and should be using lightning instead.

Since when is it acceptable to adapt the layer 1 to work better with a layer 2? Shouldn't be the other way around?

If this measure gets adopted by most nodes, Bitcoin will no longer be censorship resistant.
