Did Gary Gensler lie under oath about never owning bitcoin?

Gary Gensler in his Testimony before the House Financial Services Committee stated he has never owned bitcoin or any other crypto.

Questioned by Congressman Bryan Steil about owning crypto or bitcoin.

Gary: I actually at MIT taught a course called blockchain and money I taught multiple courses called crypto finance and other courses as well.

Steil: but you didn't own any crypto

Gary: No

Steil: you taught the course but you weren't a user in the product

Gary: I did not own crypto assets

Steil: you're in the business now of making rules and regulations regarding digital assets, you've taught a class on but you've never personally owned digital assets any crypto including bitcoin

Gary: the only assets I have is my bank account and my brokerage account

We are supposed to believe that Gary has been aware of Bitcoin since at least 2018 but probably much earlier if he was able to get a job teaching blockchain technology at MIT in that year and you would think if somebody is teaching it they are probably experts on the subject. Also during the entire time he was teaching about bitcoin and crypto he never set up his own wallet to purchase and use it.
