Do you think the FED would ever try and make it illegal for private citizens to own bitcoin?

I'm thinking a repeat of what happened with gold - create CBDC and then issue an order that all private citizens exchange their BTC for CBDC at a paltry exchange rate, which obviously crashes the price for a while. I don't really know what happens after that.

I'm guessing in this day and age that would need to be a coordinated thing globally, all CBs around the world would need to act in union and exchange for their own CBDCs, 'to keep us all safe' obviously.

Or should just I put my tin foil hat away?
