Don't dismiss criticism of a project just because you are invested in it

I'm talking about legitimate criticism, or questions without an easy answer - those facts about a project which can't really be disputed and are at times hard to swallow. It can save you a great deal of pain in the long run, as well as pressurise projects to move in a more positive direction. If there is something legitimately amiss with a cryptocurrency, then attempting to stifle discussion about it is actually hindering its progress; highlighting past mistakes or missing/ hard to find information helps growth ultimately (if the project is truly long term) and if there are problems which can be solved then surely it's better to address them and improve rather than trying to cover them up and having them exposed further down the line.

It doesn't help in attracting new investors either. It can actually deter people from investing if they are to be shutdown for making simple queries - and, too, if a question provokes such a negative reaction without a solution or answer, then does it not further highlight how great the problem is that it can't be argued against/ answered using a proper fact-supported counterargument/explanation? I suppose my point is that not everything should be dismissed as 'FUD' - critical discussion can be healthy. And before you comment, I'm not talking about any project in particular; this type of thing is not exclusive to any one team or community.
