Isn’t the issue with Minecraft that third party people, not MSFT or Mojang, were charging for NFTs on servers?
Try making a mod for a game and charging for it, and you’ll likely get a cease and desist from most publishers. There are few exceptions, NoPixel comes to mind, but by and large trying to make money on something on top of a product that you don’t own without the owners permission is illegal, as it should be.
Given the mostly negative reputation for NFTs in the gaming space, I’m not sure what Epic’s motivation is here except that they may be introducing them themselves. Which, uh, I’m not exactly looking forward to.
