Freedom Town

One day, Freedom Town decided to build open-source voting machines rather than have Oppression Town build opaque ones.

The new voting machines use the latest standards for high-security open-source hardware and software. The entire supply chain is recorded, including creation, installation, physical transfers, setup, multiple inspections, and breakdown. The hardware is non-identifying and doesn't use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

Ballot access is digitized, and instant access to documents is provided, including ID cards. Internet lines are owned by citizens, so campaign information is free. With unlimited data, they have access to free education too.

Their population is 940,000, so they put an appropriate amount of sats in a local “Unused Votes” wallet. Each transfer is initiated without a timestamp. At midnight, each machine is connected to the network via cable, and transfers of sats to candidate wallets begin.

The open-source hardware and software documentation will now be available to Oppression Town too, so maybe they will become happier neighbors.
