Friendly reminder - check and test your seed phrases after you write them down!

So I just decided to connect my Vault to MetaMask for the first time. Grabbed my trustworthy medium where I store my seed phrases. Started to slap the words into MetaMask, all happy to see the bottom button turn blue.

Got the last word in, when it went basically "nope".

Went and checked every word from the medium, compared it to what I've typed in, it all adds up. Then I turned a bit green. Then purple, and on and on...

Thankfully, the seed phrase is still visible in my phone, though I believe I've read somewhere that it's shown only when you set up the Vault. I'd be pretty pissed if that happened.

I still am logged into my Reddit account, which would allow me to send MOONs to another account/address, but that got me wondering if I made a boo-boo on my other seeds. Tested all of them, thankfully this was the only fuck-up I made, and it was as simple as replacing an lowercase T for a lowercase L in a single word. Both words make sense with either of these letters in that specific spot. Insane. Even though they don't look too much alike in that font, I messed it up.

This was an easy save, all in all, very few MOONs on my account compared to many here, but I'm generally a small bag holder and I'd hate to lose this amount of...of...governance power. I do hope people with more MOONs and more experience checked theirs beforehand, but here I am...

Check your phrases, test them when you create a new wallet before you send any funds to it. I felt like I've had it all until this happened, reminded me once again why people tend to be insecure about using crypto. As safe as it is behind the seed phrase on a wallet, these doors can be unlockable because of a single damn letter.

Heck, even have a person who you trust check the phrase before you shut down the window that shows the seed phrase, and if they find you do something as I did, go buy 'em a burger and a cold one, they might have saved you many more.
