Gas…help and what are you paying?

I went to etherscan.io and it says 6-8$ roughly although in the section down below called featured action it says roughly 93$ to swap. Earlier it was like 130-230$. When I try and trade on Trustwallet I’m getting 230-375$ fees… Uniswap gave me 60$. What I’m not understanding is… if etherscan says it’s 70-100 Gwei (roughly 6-8$) then what is going on exactly? I generally understand this stuff but I am thoroughly confused. I’m trying to trade several eth coins worth 200-400$ and I can’t do it. Has anyone actually paid 6-8$ today or did you pay something ridiculous? Im welcoming any help here. I tried trustwallet subs and other subs. Thank you for your time! I have pics if needed. Someone told me you can adjust gas but I couldn’t figure out how on Trustwallet.
