Growth of the future, according to the past.

When people try to calculate the year over year growth of Bitcoin, I keep seeing the number 145% year over year. According to Bing, the ATL for Bitcoin was about .01 around 2010. There's a lot of evidence showing that Bitcoin actually traded much lower than that in it's early days, but I'll use that for now. So you can see the easy math ((current price ÷ $.01) ÷ 13 years). But that's not truly accurate to real life. A huge percentage of Bitcoin's happened early in ratio to its more recent growth. So let's look at a more realistic version of that year over year prediction.

ATH of Bitcoin in 2011 was $1 2010 - 2011 CAGR = 9,900%

ATH for 2012 was $13.45 2011 - 2012 CAGR = 1,345%

ATH for 2013 was $1,242 2012 -2013 CAGR = 9,234%

Then things took a big hit and slumped for a couple years. Fast forward to 2019 (cause I'm not ChatGPT and I'm getting bored of doing math. Actually Chat pulls that shit on me all the time, maybe I am Chat lol...)and prices hit an ATH of $12,907.

ATH for 2020 was $29,000 2019 - 2020 CAGR = 224%

ATH for 2021 was $63,558 2020 - 2021 CAGR 219%

ATH for 2022 was at the beginning of the year at about the same price, but dumped hard down to an ATL of $15,495 2021 - 2022 CAGR = -75%

ATH for 2023 has been $31,762 so far, but dipped back down to our current $26,874. 2022 - 2023 CAGR = 173%

With my cherry picked numbers, your can see a massive slow down. If things continue on this route, year over year growth in the next 10 years will be closer to 3-5%, and will not retain unrealistic triple-digit growth. Of course there are a ton of macroeconomic factors to include that I'm not. I'm chillin at the river while I put this together on my phone. If anyone wants to correct my numbers, please do lol.

TLDR: Year over year growth for Bitcoin currently averages at 150%ish, but in 10 years it'll be closer to 3-5% according to my dum-dum self
