Guide for automatic recurring buys using Google Cloud VM and Coinbase Pro

Hello everyone,

Last year I was on the hunt for a way to be able to set up recurring purchases of crypto and to have the crypto automatically transferred to my wallet. I was trying to avoid having to see the current prices of crypto; I wanted to be able to set it and forget it. At the time I was unable to find anything so I took matters into my own hands.

I created a couple of Python scripts to handle the depositing of money into my Coinbase account, the purchase of the crypto, and the transfer of the crypto into my personal wallet. Originally I was manually running these scripts but sometimes I would forget or wouldn't be home to run the scripts. Now I have everything set up running on Google Cloud VM so that it happens automatically on a schedule I set, and it currently costs me only $1 a month to do this.

In order to share this with everyone else, I wrote up a guide so that you can do the same thing if you want to. This is the first time I am sharing this guide, so if there are any issues or you have suggestions please let me know. Hopefully this guide is clear enough and well written enough that you are able to walk through these steps by yourself.
