If you bought a reputable hardware wallet please understand why you spent the money. That hardware device has the capability to create signatures needed to spend bitcoin. It can do so internally without anything else having any access to signing keys.
It also has an emergency backup and recovery feature with seed words mnemonic which can be used to access funds if the device is lost or stolen. These words must be securely stored where no one and nothing can see them.
Scary looking emails, websites, and wallet programs asking for the words are not legitimate, regardless of whom they appear to be from or whatever justification they offer. Hardware wallets can accept the words for emergency recovery on the device itself. Do NOT type (nor use mouse) these words on any computer or phone for any reason. You would be defeating the whole purpose of buying such device. Seed words and keyboards do not mix.
