Help a noob understand

I’m wrestling with the idea of how bitcoin solves the current financial landscape. I’ve honestly been quite lazy and only come across scattered bits of information about fractional reserve banking, money supply, inflation, and Austrian economics. I can’t wrap my head around the whole thing, particularly what problems it exactly solves. Im looking for resources that explain why bitcoin is a revolutionary idea. In other words, If I do buy bitcoin, I want to believe in its nature to change the way I think about money because that’s what I would be buying. I’m not interested in speculation with the intent of making a profit. I don’t have the energy for any of that. If you guys could point me towards some resources that would be great!
