Ok so I'm looking for some explanation of holding BTC as a store of value. Are people that are holding it indefinitely counting on the volatility to settle at some point in the future? I'm curious because if at some point you need to convert some to fiat and you happen to be in a bear market you're screwed. Compared to something like putting your money in the S&P500 which remains quite steady.
So what are the expected prospects of holding BTC as a store of value rather than being something you hold/accumulate through the bear market and sell during the bull market?
Is the general consensus that the volatility will ease out and it will 'only go up' once mass adoption happens?
