How I lost 3 BTC in one night

So I am a recovering gambling addict. I haven’t gambled in 6 years as it almost cost me my home and my marriage but I managed to get help then fully stopped, my life was a lot better off for it!

I purchased 3 bitcoin in 2014 and has kept hold of it all this time and was waiting for it to get to 100k to invest into other things and what not but then I catch my son watching a YouTuber called “Steve will do it” on a website called roobet which is a crypto gambling website.

I was joking around with my son saying I could put a bitcoin in and turn in into 10 bitcoin and my son then said I should try because btc is only going up and I won’t really lose out (as an ex gambling addict this is all the encouragement I needed)

I started off by putting 0.012 bitcoin in and me and my son was messing around doing a few fun spins on lightning roulette and a load of fun on a game called crash.

But my son went to bed and I stayed on all night and come the morning I was still awake gambling whilst he woke up and by mid day I wasted all 3 of my bitcoin.

I don’t know how I am going to break the news to my wife, I can’t even accept the fact it’s gone myself. I really don’t know what to do. Any gambler out there knows the sickening and defeated feeling of losing everything and now I do mean everything. My crypto wallet is bare and I’m afraid of the consequences if it will bring.

Any suggestions on what to do next I will be greatly appreciative of. Thank you for reading my post.
