In the couple of years that I’ve actively been involved with crypto, I’ve never actually used it to buy anything tangible and very rarely met anyone who’s even remotely interested or knows what cryptocurrency is.
During the last bull run, Bitcoin and Ethereum made the news so it was quite hard to avoid hearing about it in one way or another. Here in the UK there was talk of a digital pound but since initially announcing it, I’ve heard very little about it either. I know that it wouldn’t be comparable with bitcoin and the likes since it’s not decentralised and the government would have control of your money but I thought it would have caught people’s attention more than it appears to.
Maybe I’m just not talking to the right people?
I’m basing this whole conversation from working in various jobs and meeting people of all different ages and backgrounds. At best people know it as a ‘get rich quick bubble’ or something of the sort.
So, how long do you think until we are buying Starbucks with crypto and will it be decentralised or not?
Edit: RIP inbox :)
