How to pay somebody who's new to Bitcoin

So I have a friend who does some work for me from time to time. The person is quite interested in Bitcoin as a form of money (but she's not not into technology), so she agreed that I pay her in BTC. Now those amounts are just as little as 50 $. Regarding the fees getting higher and the need to consolidate the transactions, I'm not sure how exactly I make payments so that she will not be having problems in a couple of years. Should she open up a lightning wallet and I send the Btc there or is it better to explain her that she has to consolidate her txs at some point?
