People (including me) seem to throw the word "sh*tcoin" a lot, but what does it really mean? There's a lot of coin "categories". Altcoins, Memecoins, Sh*tcoins, Scamcoins, etc. And most of the time they all get interchanges with one another.
For me, there should be a clear separation between Sh*tcoins, and Scamcoins. By defining them, I think it would give people a better understanding of the coins they are looking at. I think we should start calling scamcoins as scamcoins, and save sh*tcoins for... less offensive coins.
I would define Sh*tcoins as coins with very little actual real world use. Coins with Limited Fundamentals, relatively centralized, with passable to whack tokenomics, like SHIB, no? (Disclaimer: I also bought SHIB this dip)
I would define Scamcoins as coins meant to be rugpulls or scams like SQUID.
But there's no real consensus about the definition of these terms. It would be amazing if we as a community could create or adopt a "sub reddit dictionary" just for the purposes of the sub.
But how would you personally define a sh*tcoin?
