I have been investing in crypto for a while but 2 days ago is when I actually felt how great the technology is!

I have been investing in different currencies for a few months now and while it is not a lot of time, it has been definitely fun. I felt I am in it because it is profitable and I was learning and having a good time but never understood the impact of the potential use until 2 days ago.

I will make the story short as much as I can. I live in the US and I have a Thai friend who used to live here but went back to Thailand a year ago or so. He closed all his bank accounts here and apparently had a $60 bill to cover here that he forgot about and can't pay except with a US credit card so he asked me to pay and he would pay me back some day. I did it and totally forgot about it until 2 days ago. He texted me asking if I have XRP wallet and I do so he asked me for the address and sent me the money in a second with minimal fees.

I am just thinking about all the times people had to send money to family or friends or someone abroad and how much time and how much money it costs and it made me sick that the banking system is fighting it so hard so that they keep making money from the regular people who in many cases leave their families back home to go work somewhere else and be alone and far from their families to get them a better life and yet they pay so much to just send the money while with this technology it is very easy and very cheap.

I was very impressed although I knew about this but I never actually used it till then.
