I was stunned when my Boss told me he is going to invest in a cryptocurrency BECAUSE it is a scam.

Im not gonna name the coin for obvious reasons, just know that it got rugpulled in the past and is still around.

Story behind the title goes like this, a few weeks ago I was talking with my boss about investments and I mentioned the first time crypto to him, mostly ETH to be precise. He was very boomer about it and didn’t thought very highly of crypto to put it lightly.

Anyway, last week he called me to his office and told me that he had put some money into crypto. At first I was kinda happy that I could convince someone of the utility of crypto but then he told me he invested in „insert scamcoin name“.

I was kinda flabbergasted at first but then tried to explain to him what had happend with the cryptocoin in the past and how basically everything about it is shady.

And here comes the thing, he told me he KNOWS that and that’s why he invested in it!! He just put enough money in that it won’t hurt him if he loses it but if the coin goes ballistic and he can sell before everyone else he makes nice gains.

Maybe I was super naive about the whole investing thing but I didn’t knew people with such a mindset existed. I left his office and went back to work. Im not sure how why I’m sharing this story to be honest, I just felt like I should.

TLDR: Boss invested in scamcoin in the hopes that he can sell before everyone else and get rich.
