A lot of that "wild west" prejudices that surround crypto are actually internal problems. If we want mass adoption, we need to be serious and trustworthy to crypto investors. I mean Binance basically changes its hq every year our so, fleeing from one country to another, bitfinex is based in kazakhstan... The exchanges always seem fishy... and if you want to get in the masses, they will use exchanges. My uncle doesnt even know how to set up his printer, if he wants to invest in crypto, he wouldnt install a wallet...
Personally, what bothers me the most, is the shitty support that almost every exchange offers. Its 100x worse than any phone company offers. You get a ticket, and if you dont insist ten times, no one will ever take care of your problem.
Another thing is, that during volatile times, suddenly binance, kraken and so on always crash, the websites are not online... This never happened to me when i wanted to buy or sell forex or stocks during volatile markets.
I think these two things would be so easy to change if the exchanges would just spend a bit more money on their infrastructure and the impact would be great. Like everytime binance is down, i think for myself "ok, its crypto, but still... not being able to sell during a bear market, can be dangerous..."
