Of late, a lot of articles are coming out attacking crypto from all sides. On every news network, there is an expert saying crypto and blockchain is a fad, a scam, a ponzi or it wont ever work. It wont scale. It doesnt fix any requirement. It doesnt have a use case.
Many articles quote a computer scientist or two who have no problem saying "Web3, NFTs, and cryptocurrency are dangerous to society and the planet". Of course, they would just pretend the other thousands of computer scientists who work in crypto dont even exist.
The same media used to say the same about the internet, and before the internet, they were entirely dismissive of computers itself.

Somehow, the microcomputer industry has assumed that everyone would love to have a keyboard grafted on as an extension of their fingers. It just is not so.
Yes, there are a lot of people who would like to be able to work on a computer at home. But would they really want to carry one back from the office with them? It would be much simpler to take home a few floppy disks tucked into an attache case
So yea, next time you hear a greatly worded report from a top tier publication on why crypto is totally unnecesassary or why crypto will fail, filled with quotes from people like Stephen Diehl who will dunk on public crypto so they can sell their "private blockchains" to companies, ... know that the same media has been wrong about computer technology since the internet was not even a thing.
