Investing in projects with great tech alone isn't enough

Hi everyone, this past year has been a wild ride and I'm excited to see what more this space can bring. When I started investing in crypto early in 2021, I learnt a lot about how to pick good projects.

The general rule of thumb was: invest in the tech, the money will follow.

So that's what I did. I invested in projects with great tech. Here are a few, just to show how great the underlying tech is:

1. Vechain (VET) - Businesses can use VeChain's Blockchain as a service product to build their blockchain solutions. Vechain is already being used for uploading, and verifying data in many industries, such as logistics, warehouse management, and even health records management (i believe they were working on vaccine passports as well).

2. Nano (XNO) - Zero fees, instant transactions. Basically the perfect "currency". This has the potential to cripple companies like Western Union. Other coins provide similar services, but none do it as well as Nano does.

3. ZIlliqa (ZIL) - zilliqa is similar to Harmony ONE where it uses sharding architecture for its blockchain. It has the potential to be an "EtH KilLer". Smart contracts, NFTs, dapps, low tx fees, it has it all.

4. Chainlink (LINK) - solves the issue of blockchains being unable to communicate with the outside world to acquire data. Chainlink acts as the middleman to translate data from the outside world to the smart contracts on the blockchains. Your defi application will be able to access data such as forex data, asset prices, all thanks to chainlink.

See, great tech, poor price action. Do you know what all of these coins have in common? Poor marketing.

Some of these projects with great tech are great because they have brilliant tech minds at the helm. Solid projects but the marketing on them have been awful / non existent.

Sure, you can say "oh they dont wanna market a product thats not complete". But as a hodler, it pains me so much to see my investments bleed out while literal dogshit coins pump.

Truth is, marketing is pretty important and theres no point in having a great product if nobody hears about it.
