Is Cash Deposit (Wells Fargo, etc) still a good way to buy BTC? Haven't purchased this way in years, what should I know?

I'm trying to buy just $200 worth of BTC. I only have a temporary ID and I can't use it to verify anywhere. I even went to a BTC ATM today and the machine claimed I didn't need ID but then asked me to verify at the end. It's actually driving me insane lol

I used to buy BTC with cash deposit at Wells Fargo every time but this was 5+ years ago. What do I need to know about cash eposit these days?

Does anyone have advice where I can buy BTC with a temporary ID/no ID? It's been 2 months and my ID still hasn't arrived. I only need $200 so bisq doesn't seem worth it. Is Cash by mail my only option?

If I do decide to go to a BTC meetup, how should I find one? Is it weird if I go only looking to purchase $200? It would be a good way to make a connection for the future but still, that's really inconvenient
