is this the main reason holding back mass adoption?

When I first started using crypto back in 2015 it wasn't much of a problem and I could really see it being used by millions, but now things are different and back then this problem wasn't as big as today

Hacks and scams, I think people think there only scams out there where they trick you into giving his your seed phrase. The reality is that you never know if you are entering to the official site if you google it, you never know if your address was poison, if you are signing the right contract.

It's really not uncommon for people who interact with the ecosystem to lose funds not by someone who convinced them of giving them their seed but rather clicking the wrong link. You have to live in a state of paranoia, or you will eventually get stung, it feels like you need your own personal crypto pc to use only to interact with thing you know, but even that isn't that safe considering all that has gone off with ftx, gemini etc

The problem people don't get since maybe they never left their cex or are just accumulating on their cold storage wallet and that's it is that if you do decide to use the smart contracts and interact with them, if you use crypto weekly or daily the chances of you encountering fake links and scams are too big and you can think you can avoid it but it takes just one miss step, imagine if there is a new wave of adoption with people not knowing how contaminated things are. Last year I've seen so many scams while using it was unbelievable that I just stop using crypto to just accumulate only on cold storage just to be safe

I don't know what you think, but it feels this is the real threat, the biggest one on crypto and if one day we get it to were is really secure to use by implementing more measurements then I do see crypto getting mass adopted but for now this is holding it back

Do you think the same, do you have the same experiences as I did while interacting with ecosystems? It's a shame since there a lot of good projects but I'm a bit afraid of interacting with them and I wish I didn't had that feeling anymore

What other problems you think are holding mass adoption back, regulations?
