Margin.

If I’m borrowing on XRP/BTC and I sell @ 0.62 How is the money made . Is it when BTC is going up and XRP is dropping? Because I know if I was doing a sell on XRP/USDT it would be when the price of XRP drops. But because it’s in BTC I noticed when xrp was at 0.60 a 2cent drop I was losing money. But I made money and xrp was @ 0.62 but BTC went up. Can someone help me I closed out my position p&L +$11.89 because I was confused
