Mining at home with solar power

Bitcoin Reddit

Hello all,

I have an old Antminer S9. I have solar panels on my roof. I have a Sunny Boy inverter (I’ve forgotten which model).

I would like to automatically switch the miner on when I’m producing excess energy.

Does anyone have any tips on how I could rig that up?

I realise that with an S9 my chances of finding a block are slim and I’m reducing that further by only mining when the sun is up, but the cost of electricity where I am is so high that it only makes sense for me to mine if it is free.
