New investor trying to get into the game!

All Cryptocurrencies

I'm currently in a position where I can (and probably should!) start investing some extra money. I have 0 debt, no wife, and no kids. I'm 37 years old and wanted to try to start building an investment portfolio. I could quite easily put $500 a month into a 50/50 split BTC, and ETH portfolio, and just let it build. I'm using Kraken and have already put a couple hundred in the system to start to learn how it works.

Is $500 a month as part of the DCA strategy too much? I'm opting for a monthly installment over a weekly or daily like I've read some people do, to lessen the fees.

I don't plan on touching any of the investments for at least 5-10 years, or until BTC hits another OTH, at which point I may be forced to make some decisions.

So what say you? I imagine this question gets asked a lot, and to the veterans in the market this is probably asked, and seen daily. I apologize for that.
