NFT avatars are on the rise. Is this trend likely to continue or fade in the coming months as a result of other projects?

NFT avatars have been around since the start of CryptoPunks in 2017. It wasn't the first project, but it was certainly the most significant. While CryptoPunks, like bitcoin, began as a small project for the most hardcore tech geeks in 2009, they have since evolved into a much more mainstream role.

Also gas price for eth is too high for minting an avatar but polygon came to rescue in this and even solana has come up with an nft market place.

If you already follow some NFT fans on Twitter, you've probably noticed that many of them use illustrated avatars as their profile pictures. CryptoPunks was the start, and it quickly spread to other NFT avatar projects. In recent months, as the number of new avatar projects has exploded, so has the number of people using them instead of their regular profile picture. I'm not denying that hype and speculation are currently playing a large role in the NFT market. Even art and community enthusiasts, such as myself, are interested in seeing their NFT collectibles appreciate in value. What I've learned from being a part of the community, and what I wanted to convey in this article, is that NFT avatars are about more than hype and speculation.

The NFT avatar trend, in my opinion, is here to stay, though the market will most likely have to cool down before we find a good supply-demand balance.

I'm curious to see if this is just a fad or if it will gain traction in the months ahead!!

Some might argue that these avatars are overpriced simply because they include a profile picture. However, I believe that there are sufficient tools on the market, such as NFT avatar maker, to create custom nft avatars for a reasonable price.
