There are articles going around stating exactly this that have been shared on this sub, for example here and here. As always with crypto "journalism" take it not just with a grain of salt but with several cups.
It's easy to prove this is completely wrong. If you go to Google Trends, you can look up exactly that, how much different terms are googled compared to others in specific regions. If you do that you'll see that Bitcoin is googled more than Dogecoin in every single US state - and it isn't even close anywhere, in the most "Doge-heavy" states it's like 85:15 for BTC. The chart I posted is for the last day but play around with the date range, it doesn't change anything.
Crypto reporting is awful and usually there are commercial interests behind it, I guess in that case for Doge. Don't believe everything and don't share it if it seems dodgy.
