I came across this quote earlier today: "Miners are rewarded based on congestion and users are penalized by congestion. Iβd argue miner incentives are fundamentally opposed to the interest of users."
The same holds true for stakers.
There is a nuance to it given block rewards/burning mechanisms, where miners/stakers are rewarded based on congestion plus debasement income, while users are penalized by congestion and debasement. With this added, there is an even clearer mismatch between miner/staker incentives and user incentives for using a chain.
This made me think on it a bit more and realise what an odd system it is that we have. Do you see these opposed incentives as worrying or as problematic? Are there coins (I know of a few) that do not have these opposing incentives?
