Firstly, I probably spend far too much time watching the mempool, so I'll own that. But I've often wondered why the community doesn't spend more time educating people on sat/vB costs, and that in many (and almost all self-custody, you do self-custody right?) wallets you can decide how much you pay to move your coin.
Buying long into bitcoin is the ultimate low time preference pursuit, so I wonder why there are so many people that are OK with spending 500-1000 sat/vB (about $15 to move 0.01 BTC (about $200), to get into the next block or if they're just unaware that's what's happening?
