RCPs, if nothing else are helping new users join crypto. This is huge!

I’ve been thinking about RCPs and what the future holds for them. Of course there’s also a lot of controversy surrounding them and how they are distributed, the recent CCIP votes show that there’s a huge amount of existing users that think they are too easily obtained etc.

On the flip side there’s the army of users who believe to the death that their beloved Reddit community points will be the final word when the bull run comes.

In any case, most of us here joined crypto via completely different methods. Whether it was way back in 2012 using some of the first wallets or exchange systems to ramp their cash in. Or maybe even someone like me who joined late in the last bull run when all the hype was at its peak and wanted to get involved in crypto gaming.

We all had to front some of our hard earned cash and hand it over to the unknown. There was every chance our money could flop down to zero and the work we put into it could evaporate overnight. Many of us haven’t seen profit since the moment our money left our bank accounts.

But for the most part that doesn’t matter. I say this because at the very least we are all still here using blockchain technology, we understand how to set up a wallet and how to ramp money onto the network. This is something that only a small population actually know how to do.

Reddit RCPs open to gates to potentially hundreds of millions of new crypto enthusiasts who technically don’t have the shell out a single penny to start growing their portfolio.

A huge byproduct of this hidden gem is that once these users start opening their vaults they will be inadvertently be learning how to use crypto and come to understand the many facets of the ecosystem. How to turn their coins into cash, swap for other coins, send to DEXs, add to liquidity pools, trade them on CEXs and much more.

All without having to risk anything other than their time.

This is huge! We need more users, more investors and more diversity. RCPs may not make it to the top 10 but they sure as hell will bring a lot of people into the game and that is the absolute positive we can all take from these reward systems even if our financial goals are not reached at an individual level.
