r/crypto? More like r/politics are important.

Topic. Holy shit has this place gone to hell in a political hand basket fast. I feel like it started to get worse than the usual “govt is evil” and “fuck banks/regulation” crowd when the Canadian protests were front and center on here. Many people were trying to be political without directly approaching the topic of political beliefs/affiliation but I felt like there was still some talk about crypto that wasn’t blind/deluded on the general importance of it on a world stage.

Over the last week or so I’ve seen several garbage ass, low effort posts just dragging Elizabeth Warren/Hillary Clinton/other politicians pandering for upvotes. There have been dozens of absolute nonsense about the Ukraine v russia conflict and how crypto is very tenuously related. Every other post is how crypto will or won’t be used to get around sanctions and largely ignores the much bigger macroeconomic factors of the global issue of war. There were multiple posts calling FTX, Gavin Wood, Sunny Lu, and Binance’s charity into question too.

Several have gone so far to say that crypto will be the “savior” of both the Ukrainian and Russian people. Am I the only one who finds this kinda moonfarming a little bit more than extra? I’ve made a post in the meta subreddit to open discussion there too as I’d like to know what some people think. Hell, I’d even settle for more benzinga or cryptopia posts at this point.
