Hi,
I had an account on binance.com that was created anonymously, registered to an anonymous proton mail. The account never went through identity verification etc, I wasn't depositing or withdrawing fiat.
I do have access to proton mail, but my phone got damaged and no longer works - so can no longer access Google 2FA. I can answer any reasonable security question regarding an account.
When trying to go through the reset process (https://www.binance.com/en/support/faq/115003585911), it validates the email code, asks a few questions; But then asks to upload government-issued IDs.
At this point I'm ok de-anonymizing myself and uploading IDs, but what will they be validating these IDs against? My name is not an account, and I don't even think an account has any name on it (I'm not sure whether new unverified Binance accounts even ask for name/last name? probably not?)
Have anyone been in this situation? Should I upload the IDs they're asking for - or it will make matters even worse?
Alternatively, I could potentially explore options for repairing (badly water damaged) iPhone to regain its Google Authenticator, but not sure whether it would be possible at all...
Any advice will be appreciated.
